Tea leaves coupled with lemongrass have antiseptic and detoxifying properties.
Nowadays our environment is a toxic world. With the rapid industrialization of cities, poison is a trend. Poison would include exhaust fumes, heavy metals and industrial solvents which are released in our atmosphere. Even food we eat contains toxins without our knowledge. They contain dye, preservatives and other additives that might be harmful in our body. These known agents scientifically observed to have carcinogenic potential.
So before toxins trigger any harm in our body. We have to make sure that we remove them from our system. The best way to do that is of course detoxification.
How to remove these toxins anyway? Here are some tips.
- Restore digestive health. As we know we take in food, our digestive system would have so much workload if we eat so much. So eat light food that means we have to cut back on high calorie food. Avoid chemical rich drinks like liquor as well as sodas. Instead, drink tea which is known to have antiseptic and detoxifying properties. This is a great start in detox process.
- Eat healthy diet. Enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, grains or you may try the Mediterranean diet (see previous post). Eat much garlic, onions, turmeric, ginger and cabbage. Avoid food that contains artificial ingredients and chemicals. Tests show food that contains synthetic ingredients most likely to intoxicate our body. Thereby compromising the well-being of liver and other organ system.
- Fasting. If you fast you burned excess calories in your body. It also burns away those toxins that are stored in fat cells. I’ve tried this procedure already and it really works. Begin with a simple 24-hour fast. Be sure to consult with your dietitian first before doing this.
- Sweat those toxins away. There are some therapies that promote detoxification by sweating like spa or sauna. They come with herbs as well as antioxidants. It enhances circulation of the bloodstream and the lymphatics. Exercise of course promote wellness by burning those unwanted toxins in the body. They all goes out along with the sweat. So go to the gym from now on.
- Finally take time to go on vacation in the countryside. There you can breathe fresh air, drink natural mineral water and be with nature. Less developed rural areas have no pollutants at all. No industries that emits smoke and other environment hazard. Try on areas that have hot springs, they are known to have beneficial effects in our body.
