Notable Places in Asia

Here are a few lists of some notable places in Asia. I chose these places because they have picturesque views and have so much to offer from comfy amenities to relaxing escapes.

Sichuan, China

Carved during the Tang dynasty in 713 A.D., the Leshan Giant Buddha is the world’s largest statue of Buddha towering at 71 meters or 230 feet. It is located in Leshan, Sichuan Province in China. The UNESCO has sent team of experts to oversee its preservation and the World Bank has granted US$8 million for its maintenance.

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Chiang Mai “kingdom of a million rice fields” is the second largest city after Bangkok and is highly popular tourist destination where visitors can roam around 300 temples, witness its unique culture, and come home with shopping finds like colorful woven products from shawls to blankets. Such is the attraction of this alluring region that two ultra luxury hotels are located.

Bird Island, Philippines

Flighty creatures rest on these islands. Because of its rich marine bio-diversity, Philippines Bird Island has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a diver’s paradise with more than 400 marine and bird species and where manta rays, turtles, mackerels, tunas and barracudas are commonly encountered. It is even comparable to the Indian Ocean Islands like the Maldives as well as Seychelles.
