Are you familiar with insomnia? I do and a third of the population is familiar with it. The incessant tossing and turning in the middle of the night, the feeling of utter helplessness, and the intensifying desperation that ensues… “What am I going to do about my deadlines for tomorrow at the office”? Then, you suddenly hear the alarm at around 6 am and you realized you only had two hours of sleep. When we head the office, we feel tired and totally drained and we no longer had the chance to have a good day.

Accordingly two billion people worldwide suffer from this sleep condition. It is called insomnia and take note it has varying degree. So what can we do about it?

Well there are remedies we can do to alleviate the problem or some preventive measures that are commonly recommended by specialists. Avoid napping during the day; use earplugs when necessary; take medically prescribed sleeping pills; get a more comfortable bed; exercise regularly; don’t drink alcohol; cut down on your daily caffeine intake. You can even go on hot bath, drinking hot milk, not switching beds or moving to a couch in the middle of the night, or even making sure we only eat moderately and early evening at that.

So there you have it, lie back peacefully, relax and catch some zzzzzz.
