Avoid constipation with fibers

Yesterday I was feeling uneasy and I feel discomfort because I was really constipated. I thought for a while and asked why I suffered from it then, I realized that I haven’t eaten any fruit this week. All the food I munch would include ready made meal from a nearby fast food. I usually order Chicken meals with burgers and a soda. No veggie or any fiber rich food. The result was constipation. I feel that my tummy is heavy. So if you don’t want to suffer like I did, here are some tips for adequate fiber intake.

  • Eat a variety of foods – the less processed the better. Bran, for example, is a superb source of fiber.
  • Eat more fruits and vegetables. Eat them unpeeled, such as baked potatoes or apples with their skin.
  • Drink plenty of liquids. Otherwise, fiber can slow down or even block proper intestinal digestion.
  • Spread out your fiber intake. Getting all you fiber at one sitting may cut the benefits and increase unpleasant side-effects.
